Here is a message from Jane regarding an update to the ProScore instructions in the WI State Handbook.

To Meet Directors,

  • In ProScore club list, delete Aerial gymnastics
  • Add Starz Academy – shortened name: Starz
  • In ProScore Instructions, add: In meet set up enter judges’ names for each event in each session.

Thank You,

Regional Logo, Website & Training Camps

by Justin Slife on July 27, 2010

Training Camps:

Region 4 will now be hosting two optional training camps this fall. These will be in a very similar format to last years camps that were very successful and filled early!

One will be in the northern area of the region and one will be in the southern area. The southern camp will be held September 24th through 26th at GymQuarters Gymnastics in St. Louis. . The northern camp will be held October 8th through 10th at TAGS South in Minneapolis.

The camp format will be similar to the old “High Performance” camp. We will be bringing in paid clinicians from outside and within the region. We will assign a master clinician to each event and coaches will rotate with their athletes to the stations. We do expect that coaches work with the plan established at the event by the master staff and are willing to aid the clinician in the implementation of the plan for that event. (Spotting the stations, running the kids through the reps etc.) You could get assigned to a station at that event but will rotate to the next event with your athletes. We will be having a coaches/clinicians round table and social event Saturday night. We will try to provide an activity for the athletes as well.

Qualification and entry information is at http://r4gymnastics.wordpress.com/. Visit that to stay up to date on the current procedures to attend the training camps. Get signed up early. It will fill and there is limited space. Hotels will not be able to be booked until August 1st. Check the websites for the hotel postings.

Any questions on the camps should be directed to:

Logo Contest!

Region 4 is accepting designs for the official log of Region 4 Gymnastics. The logo will be used on websites and apparel. This contest is open to anyone! Gymnasts, coaches parents etc. There will be a nominal prize yet to be determined. The winner will also be announced and given credit for his or her work. Please submit the designs to the state chairs and they will compile them all and forward to the regional officers.

Region 4 Website!

Region4gymnastics.com is undergoing a complete overhaul. From a new design to merging all the info from the 4 current sites into one. We will also be adding a google calendar, photo gallery, a hall of fame page, a “fan” page where coaches can upload info about their teams and of course everything related to regionals, training camps, rules etc. There will also be the links to the state and national sites. Please submit any photos you would like to be included to justin@midwesttwisters.com.

CALL FOR NOMINATIONS FOR WOMEN’S NATIONAL COMMITTEE CHAIR POSITIONS (.pdf)

We missed the start of the election process for the National JO Committee Chairman and the National Technical Committee Chairman.  Nominations should have been solicited in the January and February Technique two years following the Olympic Games.

We are e-mailing this call for nominations to all Professional Members, but if you could post it on your state and regional web sites I’m sure more people would see it.  We are extending the call for nominations to March 31st. These National officers are elected by the members of their respective committees after receiving final ballots on July 1, 2010.
